The VT-9 squadron book noted of Grady Jean, “Grady’s last name runs only four letters and he somehow seems stricken with a four-letter word complex. He is apt to get things off his chest in short order with a sincerity and frankness. A relatively tall thin reed Grady swings his weight around plenty and with effectiveness at times. He is a smooth operator when he applies steam.”
