The President of the United States of America takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) to Sergeant David Warren Binkly, Jr. (MCSN: 409030), United States Marine Corps, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight for the action described below:
a) 9 April 1945, strike against Malaybalay
b) 10 April 1945, strike against Jolo
c) 12 April 1945, strike against Jolo
d) 13 April 1945, strike against Del Monte
e) 16 April 1945, strike against Tikit
Sergeant Binkly participated as radio gunner on the above strikes and his actions have at all times been in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
