    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Stuart Cecil Alley, Jr. (MCSN: 0-31495), United States Marine Corps, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Marine Fighting Squadron THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE (VMF-323), in actions against enemy Japanese forces in the Pacific Theater of Operations on 3 June 1945. First Lieutenant Alley destroyed three enemy aircraft in aerial combat. His skill and courage were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
