The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Ensign Kennett Longley Rawson, United States Naval Reserve, for distinguished service in the line of his profession as Navigator with the Second Byrd Antarctic Expedition II (1933 – 1935). Ensign Rawson’s conscientious, loyal and indefatigable performance of duty contributed greatly to the success of the Expedition.
