The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant General Giulio Tassoni, Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. General Tassoni Commanded with distinction the 4th Italian Army, performing duties of great importance with conspicuous success. His high military attainments and the able leadership were an important factor in the victorious termination of the struggle against the common enemy.
