The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant Colonel Frederick K. Puckle, Royal British Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. With the British Ministry at Washington and later in France, Lieutenant Colonel Puckle rendered services of inestimable value in the training of officers for the U.S. Quartermaster Corps and in the preparation of that department for oversea service. He gave us great assistance also in connection with the preliminary arrangements for the supply of our forces. He was tireless in the performance of his exacting duties, tactful at all times, and a loyal friend.
