The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Antonio Pirajno, Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Adjutant General of the Italian Army, General Pirajno performed his manifold duties with excellent success. At all times desirous of aiding the American forces in every possible way, he did much to further the spirit of harmony which marked the relations between the Italian and American Armies.
