The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Louis F. T. Maurin, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Commander of the General Reserve of Artillery, by his earnest efforts and loyal cooperation with our forces the American Railway Artillery was always provided with suitable cantonments and equipment facilities and an ample supply of ammunition for every mission which was assigned to them. By the high quality of service he has rendered he has contributed materially to the successes achieved by our Railway Artillery during the operations against the enemy.
