The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Major General Giuseppe Mallandra, Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. In his capacity as General attached to the Italian War Ministry, General Mallandra showed a constant desire to aid the American forces in every possible way. By his helpful spirit of cooperation he did much toward the success of operations against the common enemy, rendering services of worth to the allied cause.
