The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Major Marie J. H. Mabille, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. While he was a Member of the 2d Bureau at French General Headquarters, Major Mabille Manifested a warm spirit of cooperation by doing all in his power to aid the members of the American Military Mission at these headquarters, placing at their disposal all the important facilities of his office, rendering invaluable service to the American Expeditionary Forces. Subsequently, as Chief of the 2d Bureau of the 2d French Army, he continued to perform valiant services in the common cause.
