The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to General Caeser Giulio Levi, Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As the Representative of the Italian Government on the Inter-allied Transportation Council, General Levi aided in the solution of difficult transportation problems, involving shipment of supplies from and to Italy. He proved an able executive and demonstrated the possession of broad vision and sound judgment.
