The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Henri L. E. Le Rond, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. In his capacity as a Member of the General Staff attached to the Minister of War and Supervisor of all Franco-American Missions in France, by his thorough military knowledge and fervent spirit of cooperation, General Le Rond gave the American authorities invaluable assistance. He placed at the disposal of our officials all the facilities that his extensive office afforded. His services have been of inestimable worth to the American Expeditionary Forces.
