The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel of Infantry Koechlin-Schwartz, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As a lecturer at the American Army schools, Colonel Koechlin-Schwartz displayed extraordinary enthusiasm and ability in the performance of his important duties. Energetic and always working for the best interests of the allied cause, he rendered very valuable services to the American Expeditionary Forces in connection with the training of a large number of its officers.
