The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Charles Dupont, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As President of the Interallied Commission on the Repatriation of Prisoners of War, General Dupont has rendered highly meritorious service to the United States and allied Governments in connection with the repatriation of American and allied prisoners released by the armistice. He always displayed a cheerful and active interest in all that pertained to their welfare and rendered sympathetic and practical cooperation.
