The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Julien C. M. S. Dufieux, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Assistant Chief and Chief of the French Operations Bureau, General Dufieux was always ready to cooperate with the American military authorities. He willingly furnished us with valuable information and wise advice. Able, tactful, and helpful, he rendered very valuable services to the American Expeditionary Forces.
