The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brevet Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry Marie Colonna-Ceccaldi, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Chief of the French Mission in Base Section No. 2, American Expeditionary Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Colonna-Ceccaldi furthered the combining of French and American resources and interests, aiding materially in the success of the American Expeditionary Forces and the allied cause. He displayed untiring energy, devotion to duty, and great tact in the performance of his manifold duties.
