The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant General George T. M. Bridges, Royal British Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I, for services rendered the U.S. Army while serving as the Military Representative to the British Mission of the United States (April 1917) and later (1918) as Chief of the British Military Mission to the United States.
