The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Captain of the General Staff Achille R. Bousquet, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Assistant to the American Regulating Officers of Creil, Le Bourget, Noisy-la-Sec, St. Dizier, and Metz, France, Captain Bousquet rendered invaluable services during successive military operations of the greatest importance. He labored unceasingly under most trying conditions in order that the supply of American combat troops might not be interrupted, thus ably furthering the American operations.
