The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brevet Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry Louis E. Beaudenom de Lamaze, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Chief of the Personnel Section of the Army General Staff, by his able executive ability and good judgment, Brevet Lieutenant Colonel Beaudenom has rendered most distinguished services to the Allies. He has always shown a keen interest in the American Army and lent them every assistance which he could furnish. His services have been of great value to the American Expeditionary Forces.
