The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Infantry) George K. Wilson, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Assistant Chief of Staff in charge of the Administrative Section of the General Staff, first of a division, later a corps, and finally of an army, Colonel Wilson displayed marked ability in every capacity in which he was employed. By his thorough knowledge and grasp of his duties he became a material factor in the successful operations of his several departments.
