The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel Kenzie Wallace Walker, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Assistant to the Chief of Finance, charged with the responsibility for the settlement of many thousands of claims of officers and men of the Nation’s Army, Colonel Walker displayed extraordinary administrative and executive ability, sound business judgment, unflagging energy, and devotion to duty. The services rendered the Government were of immeasurable value in a position of great responsibility.
