The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Infantry) Harry Herbert Tebbetts, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1, of the Services of Supply, Colonel Tebbetts demonstrated marked energy and executive ability in the management of troop evacuation from France, and especially subsequent to the armistice in the repatriation of the American Expeditionary Forces, when several hundred thousand men were returned to the United States each month. He has rendered services of great value.
