The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Corps of Engineers) Frederic A. Snyder, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Division Engineer Officer of the 28th Division during its participation in the Aisne-Marne and the Meuse-Argonne offensives, Colonel Snyder solved numerous and difficult problems with marked ability. By his tireless energy in the construction and maintenance of transportation routes and defensive positions he contributed in no small degree to the successes of the combat troops.
