The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Adjutant General’s Corps) Henry D. Lindsley, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. Colonel Lindsley conducted with extreme devotion to duty and marked zeal the many activities of the War Risk Insurance Bureau in France. Due to his executive ability he contributed very largely to the successful development, extension and administration of that important service.
