The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Transportation Corps) Moorhead C. Kennedy, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Deputy Director General of Transportation, American Expeditionary Forces, in Paris, France, and later in London, England, Colonel Kennedy rendered services to the Government of an important and responsible character, his wide experience as a railroad executive sound professional and technical ability, his untiring energy and devotion to duty contributing markedly to the successful operations of the Transportation Corps of the American Expeditionary Forces.
