The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor (Second Award) to Watertender John King, United States Navy, for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession while serving as Watertender on board the U.S.S. Salem, on the occasion of the accident to one of the boilers of that vessel, 13 September 1909.
