The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to First Sergeant John Kaiser, United States Army, for gallant and meritorious service on 27 June 1862, while serving with Company E, 2d U.S. Artillery, in action during the Seven Day Battle before Richmond, Virginia.
