The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant Colonel (Infantry) Thomas A. Driscoll, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, 91st Division, during the operations of the division in the Meuse-Argonne offensive, and during the advance from the Lys to and beyond the Scheldt River, by his keen foresight, discriminating judgment, and organizing ability, Lieutenant Colonel Driscoll was able at all times to give to his commanding officer accurate and complete information of the enemy dispositions and to furnish valuable assistance in the preparation of all attack orders, thereby rendering services of inestimable value to the success of the division.
