The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Quartermaster Corps) Clyde B. Crusan, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. Colonel Crusan was charged with the important duty of administering the Supplies Division of the Quartermaster Department of the American Expeditionary Forces, where he exhibited organizing ability of the highest order. His efforts and foresight had a marked influence on the successful delivery of rations, clothing, and other quartermaster supplies to combat troops.
