The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Captain (SN: NX34853) Jack Murray Blamey, Australian Imperial Force, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with 2/2nd Australian Infantry Battalion, in action against enemy forces in the Buna-Gona area of New Guinea on 26 November 1942. The intrepidity and unselfish devotion to duty displayed by Captain Blamey reflect highest credit upon himself and the Allied Forces.
