The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” to First Lieutenant (Infantry) George S. Milda, United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving as the Physician’s Assistant for the 2d Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, Coalition Joint Task Force – Mountain, in Bagram, Afghanistan, from 2 March 2002 to 11 March 2002. Firs Lieutenant Milda’s technical and tactical proficiency, devotion to duty, and commitment to mission accomplishment in a combat zone under the most extreme of circumstances greatly contributed to the success of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Fist Lieutenant Milda’s performance of duty reflects great credit upon him, the Coalition Task Force – Mountain, and the United States Army.
