Rodney Rempt graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, Class of 1966. He served two tours in in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean during the Vietnam War. Achieving Flag Rank, he served as the first Assistant Chief of Naval Operations for Missile Defense. From 2003 to 2007 he served as the 59th Superintendent of the U. S. Naval Academy, and retired in 2007 as a Vice Admiral.
