    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Second Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Third Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Master Sergeant Reginald P. Martin, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Defensive Fire Control Systems Operator of a B-52 Aircraft of the 307th Strategic Wing, U-Tapo Airfield, Thailand, in action in Southeast Asia on 26 November 1972. On that date, Master Sergeant Martin flew in a cell of B-52’s targeted against a high priority target in North Vietnam. Despite direct attack from numerous heavy anti-aircraft artillery positions and several equipment malfunctions, he was able to perform his duties and place the ordnance on target. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Master Sergeant Martin reflect great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
