(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Staff Sergeant [then Sergeant] Fred A. Babson (AFSN: AF-14327227), United States Air Force, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States while serving with the TWENTIETH Air Force, in 1951. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Staff Sergeant [then Sergeant] Babson, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
