Bakker (AFSN: AF-15129434), United States Air Force, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States on 15 February 1961. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Staff Sergeant Bakker, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
