The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant Albert Wayne Wallingford, Jr. (AFSN: FV-322914), United States Air Force, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force as a B-25 Electronic Warfare Officer, 20th Bombardment Squadron, 307th Strategic Wing, U-Tapao Airfield, Thailand, from 19 December 1972 to 29 December 1972. During this period, First Lieutenant Wallingford repeatedly attacked heavily defended, vital military targets, interceptors, and numerous surface-to-air missiles, and high caliber antiaircraft artillery. First Lieutenant Wallingford completely fulfilled his responsibilities as an Electronic Warfare Officer without regard for his personal safety, and successfully penetrated these defenses, releasing his ordnance precisely on target. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Wallingford reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross w/V to First Lieutenant Albert Wayne Wallingford, Jr. (AFSN: FV-322914), United States Air Force, for heroism while participating in aerial flight as a B-52 Electronic Warfare Officer, 307th Strategic Wing, U-Tapao Airfield, Thailand, on 18 December 1972. On that date, First Lieutenant Wallingford was flying on a high priority mission against a heavily defended target in North Vietnam. Despite the hazards presented by numerous surface-to-air missiles, First Lieutenant Wallingford assisted his crew in releasing their ordnance precisely on target and safely egressing from the high threat area. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wallingford reflect great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
