(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Captain Jerry Dean Voelm (AFSN: AO-1911133), United States Air Force, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving as Pilot of an F-84 Thunderjet Fighter-Bomber of the 429th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 474th Fighter-Bomber Group, FAR EAST Air Forces, in aerial operations in Korea, in 1953. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Captain Voelm, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
