The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Captain (Chaplain’s Corps) Isaias X. Edralin (ASN: 0-24460), United States Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with as a Chaplain with the 102d Division (Philippine Army), in aerial operations in the provinces of Oriental Misamis and Bukidnon, Mindanao, Philippine Islands, from 2 May 1942 to 10 May 1942. During this period, disregarding personal danger, Chaplain Edralin visited units in the forward areas while under fire, and by cheerful demeanor, friendly counsel and courageous manner did much to maintain morale within the different units of the division. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Chaplain Edralin, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
