(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain (Field Artillery) Eugene P. Keyes, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action while serving as a Battery Commander, 633d Field Artillery Battalion, in Tunisia, in April 1943. At the risk of his life, when a direct hit ignited powder and the camouflage net at one of the guns, Captain Keyes helped pull the blazing net off the gun and helped care for the wounded.
