Glen Morrell began active duty in the Army in November 1954, and over his 31-year career served in virtually every noncommissioned officer leadership position. He served three tours of duty in the Vietnam War, two of them with the 7th and 8th Special Forces group. from 1983 to 1987 he served as the 7th Sergeant Major of the Army, and retired in 1987.
