(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Major Edwin Wales Robertson, United States Air Force, gallantry in action as Pilot of a Fighter Airplane of the 7th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 49th Fighter-Bomber Group, Far East Air Force, on temporary duty as a Forward Air Controller attached to the 24th Infantry Division, U.S. Army, in action against the enemy in Korea, in December 1950. Major Robertson helped direct an air attack against enemy forces that saved a battalion of U.S. Army Infantrymen. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Major Robertson, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
