(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Captain (Infantry) Stephen Silvasy, Jr., United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 1st Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 82d Airborne Division, in action against an armed enemy in the Dominican Republic, in 1964 and 1965. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Captain Silvasy, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.

Captain Silvasy distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions while serving as Commanding Officer of an Infantry Company in the 2d Battalion, 502d Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, in action against the enemy in 1966 and 1967.
