(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Field Artillery) Wilbur Henry Vinson, Jr., United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding Officer, 19th Artillery Regiment, and Deputy Commanding Officer, Division Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division, in the Republic of Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Colonel Vinson and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army.

    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918 (amended by an act of July 25, 1963), takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Colonel (Field Artillery) Wilbur Henry Vinson, Jr., United States Army, for gallantry in action while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. Colonel Vinson distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions while serving as Commanding Officer, 19th Artillery Regiment, and Deputy Commanding Officer, Division Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), in action against the enemy in 1966 and 1967. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Colonel Vinson, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
