The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Signal Corps) Harold D. McCormick, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from August 1959 to August 1965. [This award supersedes award of the Army Commendation Medal awarded to Colonel McCormick for meritorious service from 7 August 1959 to 15 June 1962, as announced in General Orders Number 45, Headquarters United States Army Caribbean, dated 5 June 1962.]
