(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Darvan E. Cook, United States Air Force, was awarded the Airman’s Medal for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy as a member of Detachment 4, Pacific Air Rescue Center. Captain Cook scrambled in an HH-43 helicopter and extinguished a fire in a loaded B-57 bomber.
