The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Finance Corps) Danna L. Lane, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from July 1957 to July 1964. [This award supersedes award of the Army Commendation Medal (Second Oak Leaf Cluster) to Colonel Lane for meritorious service during the period 21 June 1960 to 19 August 1963 as announced in General Orders Number 13, Headquarters, United States Army Forces Southern Command, Fort Amador, Canal Zone, dated 29 January 1964 and the Army Commendation Medal (Third Oak Leaf Cluster) for meritorious service during the period 3 September 1963 to 31 July 1964 as announced in General Orders Number 30, Office of the Chief of Finance, Headquarters, Department of the Army, dated 19 June 1964.]
