The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting a Second Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Third Award of the Legion of Merit to Colonel (Transportation Corps) Albert B. Evans, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States from October 1962 to June 1964. [This award supersedes the award of the Army Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) to Colonel Evans for meritorious service during the period 1 October 1962 to 30 June 1964 as announced in General Orders Number 58, Headquarters, United States Army Supply and Maintenance Command, dated 6 April 1964.]
