(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Captain (Field Artillery) Sydney Archibald Vincent, Jr. (ASN: 0-389370), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 803d Tank Destroyer Battalion, 8th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Normandy, France, in June and July 1944. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Captain Vincent, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.

    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Captain (Field Artillery) Sydney Archibald Vincent, Jr. (ASN: 0-389370), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 803d Tank Destroyer Battalion, 8th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Normandy, France, on 18 July 1944. Captain Vincent led a detachment of his mechanized unit into a city in the face of devastating enemy small arms and artillery fire. Throughout the attack, Captain Vincent remained at the head of his unit, encouraging and inspiring his men to close with the enemy. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Captain Vincent, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
