The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pride in presenting the Medal of Honor (Posthumously) to Sergeant Horace Capron, Jr., United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on June, 1862, while serving with Company G, 8th Illinois Cavalry, in action at Chickahominy & Ashland, Virginia, for gallantry in action.
