    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Joseph Soloski, United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company G, 2nd Battalion, 350th Infantry Regiment, 88th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy near Sasso, Bolognese, Italy, during World War II. While attacking this strongly defended town, Private First Class Soloski was with the leading platoon which was the object of a steady stream of machine gun fire. He succeeded in entering the town, threw a grenade, and scored a direct hit o the machine gun nest. Private First Class Soloski was then ordered to withdraw and while crawling to safety was wounded. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Private First Class Soloski, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
